I’m Making a Note Here: Huge Success.
Looks like a bit of gaming news has slipped past us. Back on February 21 at the Game Developers’ Choice Awards, a sequel to the Game of the Year Portal was announced by lead designer Kimberly Swift.
Portal is a brilliant video game. The game was originally developed as a project for a college course, and Valve ended up buying the game and bringing on the students as designers. The premise of the game is simple. You have two portals – a blue one and an orange one. Whatever goes into one portal comes out the other. This simple premise was developed into a fantastically addictive game by adding a compelling story and immersive environment. Phrases like, “The cake is a lie”, and “I’m making a note here, huge success” have become commonplace in geek dialogue.
Portal 2 had previously been hinted at, but no official confirmation was available until now.
